recently, over e-mail, my friend megan's boyfriend jacob shared an idea they'd been discussing: a challenge to read all those books in 2007 that we just haven't gotten around to actually sitting down with yet.
jacob is a big reader like me (needs books like air) and, as a result, has amassed a bunch of titles that have been left in the dust for the moment. he and megan met in grad school, which has further contributed to the problem for both of them. having assigned reading all the time in mass quantities is a big bummer for the recreational reader. jacob suggested we take this wide via the blog. i have accepted the challenge.
here it is: pick out all the books laying around the house that you own, have been meaning to read, but haven't yet. jacob's reasonable suggestion was 5-7 books as a goal. i- being both unreasonable and overzealous at the thought of feeling square with my reading by the end of 2007- have identified 39. let me tell you why.

the 2007 reading challenge tower of power: 12,073 pages of reading goodness.
