One of my big items was getting my house ship shape this year. No more beige couch against beige wall! This past weekend, Jackie Page or Alter came to visit. She is a friend whose work I've had my eye on for quite a while, so it was such a treat to have her come on down and take a gander at the house.

So far so good... above is my new, but not yet totally finished, living room. I love love love to sit in it now. Before it was just a bland and cramped area. Now it is a real live room!

More to come, but wanted to update all on what's been going on with 32 for 32...

sometimes, pesto is best

this past weekend was a hot one in los angeles. i spent most of it reading the bedroom, curled up by my ancient roaring air conditioner. when it's hot, i can't even bear to watch movies. i finished the mysteries of udolpho at last, read through what you wear can change your life, got through much of style statement, and picked among several others.

eventually, when on a reading bender, one gets hungry. but what to do when heating up the kitchen is a nightmare or sweat and misery? get out the blender!

a new lady business to love: shanna murray

i found out about shanna murray through another site i love, decor8. for those of you who don't yet read decor8, don't waste another minute. i have found so many wonderful gifts, ideas, design inspiration and general yummyness from that site, i can't even tell you.

oh, the lust i feel for a blank book

lillie and i have been at it again. or rather, i should say, lillie has again hit me with a brilliant and fantabulous site. she really has a knack for sniffing these things out. my latest object of lust is a perfect blank book. and even though i have an obsession with such things anyway, ever since i read barbara sher's refuse to choose, i feel totally justified in getting another.
