This year, I went to the mall. On Black Friday. With my family. Don't worry... it was for a stakeout. I decided I wanted to try another one with the new computer now that the lovely eyeball camera was working and so we went out in spitty Boston weather to take on the joy of the mall.
So I have now gone on two stakeouts! I am killing goal #32. Excellent. We did go in the mall afterward and peek around. We were astounded at how deserted the place was. I guess this downturn thing is really hitting us. Also, we were way too lazy to get up and go to any 4am madness. Nothing is worth that much effort. Not even cool gadgets and whatnot. I restricted my sale shopping to online, thank you.
So, if you'd like to support the project by checking out the episode, please do so at www.stakeoutgirl.com. The chatroom was quite silent this time versus the first episode. Granted, there was no cool trailer or lead time for promotion for this episode. We did get one viewer about five minutes before the end who said "Damn yerr ugly." All three of us were visible on the screen, so we decided not to try to figure out who was being referred to. I do have a bit of a zit outbreak at the moment, so it might be me. Boo. So that is the update. Had a lovely Thanksgiving, my first gluten-free one, in the service of goal #22, getting rid of the granuloma, I have learned that I am most likely allergic to wheat. This explains why I feel like there is a tiny ninja in my stomach that makes me violently ill whenever I eat it. Lightbulb slowly going on....
If you suspect you might be gluten intolerant, I highly recommend getting tested or going a few weeks without it. If you eat it again, you will just know. I certainly did. Ouch.
This was the first year I got through Thanksgiving without a horrible stomach ache. Sweet bliss of the wheat free. Magic.
Other than that, I am starting to gear up for my run around Silverlake Reservoir. It will probably be a run/walk trip the first time. But I am determined. My high school friend Jen came to visit tonight and calmly announced she ha run a 5k the day before, ie Thanksgiving, and she has an 11 month old kid. I am ashamed of my lack of prowess. Another friend of ours who has two kids ran a half marathon before meeting the rest of us for brunch. In another city. Before going to a WEDDING that night.
I am surrounded by athletic friends who make me look and feel foolish. This must change.
Please send me heckling comments until I press on. I need you.
Have a lovely holiday weekend. I think my mom and I are off to see Precious tomorrow... We shall share our thoughts.
