i know i talked about enchanted april on literature life when i read it, as i always do, in april. (duh- might mix it up and try july next year, we'll see.) both the movie and the book are long time favorites. one of the characters says at one point while on magical sojourn in italy that she feels she is going to burst out. lately i have been feeling the same: this explosive excitement to create and expand. it feels really good, and at the same time i wish there were many more hours in the day to lay around and make things, read, and drink tea on the roof. we'll see how i can make it happen.

sometimes it is necessary to seek inspiration from outside. i have been trying to read as much as i can that inspires me lately. moving into a "working for myself" model is both liberating and scary. sometimes all it takes is a reminder from a wiser figure to put me back on track. this week, that came from Epictetus.
epictetus, stoic philosopher, is an excellent one to consult when you need to take the edge off. read on for some beautiful thoughts from the art of living, currently on my bedside table once again.

today i tried something new: i moved forward on a dream before every picky little detail was neatly in place. i am sticking with the directive to try to live my dream as much as i can this week. so i did some research last night, got up at six in the morning, and joined a women's business networking group. despite not yet having new business cards or a complete website to outline every aspect of my work i decided it was time for my dream business coaching artists and creative people to be born.
so: i hope to help artists and creative people birth careers limited only by their imaginations. may the birth announcement above commemorate the company and the art that my future clients will fearlessly make.
