Back from the beyond, AND: Stakeout tomorrow!!

Hello all of you out there! I am back from Vegas and am now no longer sleeping until noon to recover as I was the entire weekend. Wow. David Neagle's ERS was a last minute opportunity for me and it was such an incredible gift to be able to go.

And now... I jump back into my life at home. I am back to my client calls, hearing about businesses and where they are headed- so much fun!

However, the really big announcement I want to make as this is my fun 32 for 32 blog now: #32 will be in effect tomorrow.

That's right. A REAL LIVE stakeout. I can barely contain myself. Just two short months after my birthday I am going to be in a car with a thermos (see left for our thermos, purchased for us by my wonderful friends Erin and Jesse) and trashy magazines. And the lovely Catherine Cassidy, who is going to try to explain to me and all of us WHY ON EARTH women dress the way they do when in line for bars on La Cienega.

If you're not in LA, you have these bars in your town. I promise. These are the bars with ladies in skyscraper heels and tiny barely-there minis who flounce to the front of the line and get in.

In LA it takes more than that to get right in because everyone is dressed that way.

We will not be dressed that way, don't get excited. We will be in all black to be inconspicuous. With large thermoses of tea and soup. And trashy tabloid magazines. 

Goal #32 has gotten so big and exciting that it has its own website now!

Writers: don't miss this class!

Hello all!

After writing the column yesterday about the conundrums of going back to school, I got to thinking about the fact that I am, in some ways, always in school in one form or other.

One way I have been happy to keep my brain going is through workshops and study from home courses. I have been working on my fiction writing for quite a while now- I took classes at Ripe Fruit Writing in San Francisco with the magical Leslie Kirk-Campbell while I lived there and, once I moved to LA, found a great community of support with Edan Lepucki's Writing Workshops LA

Since so many clients I work with have a book in them- I just know it!- I want to keep you all abreast of great writing offerings.

My teacher, Edan, is offering a class at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena for two Saturdays in March and I think it will be pretty badass. It is geared towards the beginning writer, so if you have been thinking about starting some writing projects, this fiction seminar might be just right for you. Check it out!

Now I am off to an afternoon of writing, both for Remabulous projects and for my Novel, which is up for critique in a few weeks. Aie! I am currently in Edan's Novel writing course and loving it. Don't miss out on the chance to study with a lady who really knows her stuff and creates a really supportive and motivating atmosphere!

Holding onto optimism in a crazy time.

I just finished watching the second presidential debate. I had recorded it since I had client sessions until 7pm. Funny that on the day I finally hit my quota goal for sessions per day for my business, I am pacing around practically in a cold sweat while watching the two candidates wrestle with the current state of our country.

I know who I am voting for. I want to be informed and watch the debates and be current on the issues. But what is the impact on people who are trying to start new goals and try to live for their dreams in a time like this?

blogher 08 is tomorrow

and i am nervous. but excited and ready to be inspired. i ducked out on the night before people's party to have dinner with a friend i hadn't gotten to see during my week here. better move for me. after last year, i felt like a funnel had been stuck in the top of my head and info poured in. it was amazing. just now integrated, really, and i'm ready to move ahead. there are so many people i am excited to see. and how incredible to have michelle obama on board. should be a great weekend. see you ladies there. and those of you not able to make it- am going to try to blog as much of the sessions as i can. sleep well and i'll be back tomorrow...

wow- technology is scary!

well, it was inevitable. now i cannot only avoid getting lost, check e-mail, talk on the phone, and browse already written blogs on my blackberry, i can also write my own. that's right: this is coming at you from my phone. amazing when one thinks that just ten years ago it was pretty rare to see a mobile phone with anyone but an exec. and now we have reached the next level. it's official: this thing now really is my life support. help. they will get you in the end, too. i'm sure of it

Greetings Creative Beauties...I wanted to let you know I have officially added an afternoon Creative Journaling Workshop Series beginning Thursday, April 3, 2008.

Week One :: I Leap :: Thursday, April 3, 2008
 Our first evening together will be all about play. We'll start off with a review of basic collage techniques and then move right into the good stuff - letting your creativity run wild.
Week Two :: I Am :: Thursday, April 10, 2008
 This workshop is for you to explore who you are, your values and priorities and your wildest creative dreams.
Week Three :: I Can :: Thursday, April 17, 2008
 A follow up to I Am, this week is about tapping into what makes you feel brave, strong and yes, creative.
Week Four :: I Will :: Thursday, April 24, 2008
 We'll wrap things up by tying everything together and using what you've learned to bring your creative dreams to life.

All materials will be supplied. If you prefer to work in your own journal, feel free to bring it, as well as any other photographs, papers, etc. that you would like to create with.
